Book 6 of the popular Left Behind series takes the Tribulation Force through the plague of the fire-breathing horsemen and various plots to assassinate the AntiChrist. If you haven't read the first five books, you'll need a tape or two to catch up with the story, but it's well worth the patience. Narrator Richard Ferrone delivers both terror and rapture with tight control. His characters don't wail or moan, but we hear every nuance of their terror, determination, rage, and frustration. Expect major disappointment at the end of the last tape, due to the close of a fine performance and the obvious ploy to make the next book required reading. R.P.L. (c) AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine

In the continuing struggle after the Rapture, Rayford Steele and Buck Williams plan to dethrone Nicolae Carpathia and expose him as the Antichrist. LaHaye and Jenkins (Apollyon) build up a plot reminiscent of "Who Shot J.R.?" and leave us hanging after the assassination of Nicolae. Who did it, is he really dead, and when is the next book coming out? As the millennium approaches, so does interest in this series, so don't be "left behind."
