It's the early 1900s in Blessing, North Dakota. Ellie and Andrew plan their May wedding and are deeply disappointed when they must postpone it. As tragedy and mystery enter their lives, each must learn to trust God with his or her deepest feelings. Renee Ertl narrates with credible skill. She does not, however, match voice with character. Though this might be disconcerting at the beginning, one finds that the story is engaging even without audible characterization. The pacing and intensity come through well. This simple and sweet love story has a predicable ending and exemplifies faith, commitment, and forgiveness. N.L. (c) AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine
