Indian Women: Empowered but in poor health • The gender gap in India, shown in the WEF report, was also visible in the National Family Health Survey report published earlier this year. This report revealed how women fared poorly in health indicators while showing improvement in other indicators. In fact, anaemia and obesity have increased among them in the last five years. What’s more worrying is the regional disparity among states in terms of performance across all indicators.
