When people are drawn to a subject, they generally start by sampling it, rather than consuming the whole thing. In her fifth "Anatomy Series" title (after Ocean Anatomy), popular illustrator, author and columnist Rothman provides attractive, interest-pulling samples of information on many living things and aspects of their anatomy. Her interest in wildlife anatomy comes from her sister, who, in addition to being a professor at Hunter College in New York City, spends six months living in a small hut in Uganda, where she studies primates up close. This volume, as the title suggests, covers anatomical aspects of a wide variety of wildlife. Readers of all ages and all levels of education will be drawn to the author's simple yet charming illustrations and to the book's snippets of information. VERDICT This book, more than many like it, will entice readers to consult it over and over, consistently finding new information each time they do. Highly recommended for all libraries.--Steve Dixon
