There is something bewitchingly alluring in using magical crafts to love a home. Salem, Massachusetts-based interior designer and store owner Feldmann practices this benevolent art, showing readers exactly how to get what they want in their spaces. Her unique approach has six spokes, all using such devices as tarot cards, crystals, meditation, herbs, and the like. It starts with manifesting, figuring out what home means to you and getting clear on your desires, whether that involves constructing a vision board or a combination of keys and crystals. Next up? Cleaning, of course, borrowing more than a page from the now-classic Marie Kondo method. That also includes natural cleaning as well as a cleaning spray, complete with recipes of the homemade version. The four steps that follow? protection, comfort, harmony, and balance?are patterned similarly: digging into the definitions, adding suggestions and realization, providing explanations of different tools to use, and offering accompanying recipes, including one for a full-moon chocolate courgette cake. Hard work and just a little prestidigitation might transform a house into a home. Highly recommended for home-care enthusiasts.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2019, American Library Association.)
